We've got a 1 Year Old!

Hadley turned 1 on Sunday, November 8th, 2015. Chris and I still can't believe that we had our little baby a year ago. You truly don't understand how fast time flies by until you have a child. They grow up so fast! Hadley didn't quite know what to do with her cupcake that we gave her. We had to pretty much put her face in the frosting to help her realize that she had a delicious treat in her hand. We broke the cupcake apart to try and help her, but she was more interested in playing with the cupcake than eating it. We let her do whatever she wanted since it was her day. Some friends came over to enjoy some cake and ice cream with us.

Other than the usual things that Hadley loves to do, she LOVES her wooden walker. She will push it up and down the hallway of the apartment and we have to help her turn it around when she runs into the door or the end table. Sometimes I will take her outside and let her push it on the sidewalk as long as she wants. She laughs while she walks and stops to point at things and jabber. I could watch her do it all day long. She isn't walking on her own yet, but I don't expect her to be crawling much longer. Lately, Hadley has started dancing. She will bounce and roll her head from side to side and it is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I will spy on her when she does it and catch it on camera. She really starts to dance when Baby Einsteins comes on. She loves to be held, and when she wants you to pick her up she will grab on to your legs and start to pull your pants down as if that is helping her get up higher. The daycare people at the gym always have to hold her so she won't cry, the little stinker.

Hadley really is the greatest thing to ever happen to us. We love her more than she will ever know, and let's hope she isn't a terrible toddler!

She likes to try and brush her hair. I can't keep her out of the bathroom drawers or closet.

11 months going on 1 year!

Hadley is 11 months going on 1 year! She will actually be 1 year old this coming Sunday the 8th. I can’t believe how fast she has grown and how quickly time goes by when you have a baby. I don’t even remember Hadley being as small as a newborn. She has been the greatest joy in our lives.

Hadley still hates more than anything to get her face wiped and be held down in any way. She even hates it when I wipe her hands off because it is restraining her in some sense. She hates to get dressed and be pulled out of the tub. She LOVES her time in the bath. We could let her sit there for a long time and she wouldn’t mind because she is too busy having so much fun. She has curly hair and we think it is strawberry blonde but we aren’t quite sure yet. She crawls around everywhere and gets into everything. I have to keep telling her to not touch my decorations on the coffee table and she just responds with her big, cheesy smile. She claps more than ever now and waves backwards. She also points and we say “Hey you.” She does a big smile that we call her “cheeser” smile. She has 7 teeth now and jabbers non-stop. We LOVE when she jabbers. She dances now and still loves Baby Einsteins. She loves to be held and gets so mad at us when we don’t pick her up. Still loves books, balls, keys, and my wallet. She loves to pull all the credit cards out and hit them together. I put her on the swings in St. George the other day for the first time and she loved it! She was laughing so hard and couldn’t get enough of it.

We took Hadley to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM about a month ago and she loved it. She loved watching the balloons light up at night. She also loved the sand and the beach even more when we went to San Diego with the Giauque family a few weeks ago. She would bolt for the waves every chance she got.

Yesterday was the first time that Hadley has ever really thrown up. We went to dinner with my parents and she will eat non-stop if it’s table food. We think she ate a little too much this time. Hadley was sitting on top of me while I was lying on the couch. All of a sudden she puked all over me. It was all on my shirt, pants, the couch, and the floor. Chris and I just sat there and laughed because we didn’t know what to do and it came so suddenly. We threw both of us in the bath, and Hadley acted as if nothing was wrong at all. She was just happy to be in the tub with Mom. Even though it was gross, we are sad we didn’t get a picture of me just lying there covered in throw up. I am sure it won’t be the last time that happens.

Hadley gets funnier, bigger, and more fun every day. We still can’t believe that she is ours. It only gets better from here.

10 Months in California!

Hadley hit 10 months old when we were in California with Chris' family. She is so much fun and finally crawling. She is getting into EVERYTHING! Chris and I just installed all the cabinet and drawer stoppers since she loves to open everything. She still is such a joy. Hadley has now started clapping and waving to people. Getting her to eat baby food is harder than ever! She wants table food as much as possible. She loves to try and imitate other people and the sounds or movements they make. She still loves playing with balls, books, and keys and will try to get to our phones every chance she can get. All four of her top front teeth have come through and her hair is getting longer and CURLY! She definitely gets that from Chris as well as everything else pretty much. She still is a great sleeper but has been giving us a little trouble since she hasn't felt well the past month with a sinus infection and now a double ear infection. She still hates more than anything to get her face wiped, dressed/undressed, held down in any way, and getting her nose sucked out. She may be a little stinker sometimes, but we love her so much and can't believe that she will be 1 in less than two months!
